Science

Science is a subject that enables pupils to understand, enjoy and marvel at the natural world. It consists of observing the world by watching, listening, observing, and recording. It is curiosity in thoughtful action about the world and how it behaves.

At Our Lady of Lourdes, our bespoke curriculum aims to develop scientific knowledge and conceptual understanding through the specific disciplines of biology, chemistry and physics. We develop understanding of the nature, processes and methods of science through science enquiries helping the children to answer scientific questions about the world around them. We work to ensure that our pupils are equipped with the scientific knowledge required to understand the uses and implications of science, today and for the future. As Scientists, we embody our school motto “I can do great things with God’s love” in our appreciation, love and care of all our world has to offer.
